Writing today's blog post about breast feeding for my Economic Crisis Diet Pledge #7, I was reminded of what a large and crucial role Mothering Magazine was for me before and when my daughter was born.
Mothering Magazine was launched in 1976 by Peggy O'Mara who has gained international celebrity status as publisher, editor, author, lecturer and advocate. Out of a need for the natural family community to learn about raising healthy children, Mothering Magazine was the birthplace of the natural family lifestyle.
Mothering Magazine was an irreplaceable resource for me when I was making decisions to deliver my baby naturally, breast feed her for an extended period of time, not circumcise him had she been a boy, and apply the principles of attachment parenting.
I salute Peggy O'Mara in her quest to support natural mothering practices, write about them and advocate for the right and space to raise children in a more natural environment than the medical and consumption industries would have us choose.
It is for these reasons that I will be writing to Peggy O'Mara today asking her to take a look at WellnessDestinationsCentral.com (aka WDC) and consider listing her magazine website as well as mention WDC to her audience so that America can more easily locate those who assist with natural childbirth and promote a natural lifestyle...and help me to meet my goals!
If you know Peggy O'Mara, please put in a good word for WDC!
Live Light, xo-C.
